November 10 – November 17, 2007 – Dubai Women’s College, Dubai
Translation for 9 Afghan women in Dubai
Since May of 2005, Farah has been actively working with Bpeace organization providing translation and interpretation of their workshops and seminars for
Afghan women. Farah has traveled to Afghanistan and New York with Bpeace on many occasions but this time, Dubai was hosting Afghan Bpeace
associates. In a joint effort, Bpeace and Dubai Women’s College helped 9 Afghan business women have a unique experience of workshops and classes
combined with visiting local businesses in Dubai. Farah had the opportunity to spend 7 days in Dubai, translating and interpreting the whole event consisting
of touring Dubai, visiting food industry and other small businesses as well as workshops and seminars presented by Dubai Women’s College. For more

October 30 – November 4, 2007 – San Francisco, California
Presentation at 48t annual conference of ATA
48th annual conference of American Translators Association, ATA was held in San Francisco, California from October 30th to November 4th, 2007. More
than 3,000 individuals attended the conference packed with workshops and presentations brought by the top professionals of the translation industry. Farah,
the founder of Arjang Language Center, had a presentation on “Farsi in Iran versus Dari in Afghanistan” showing videos on both countries of Afghanistan and
Iran as well as talking about the cultural differences and similarities of the two neighboring countries. This presentation was welcomed by a room full of
project managers, and other individuals interested in learning about one of the most popular languages that has yet to be explored by the language community

Trip to Kabul, Afghanistan with Bpeace organization. Arjang Language Center has been working closely with Afghan Department of Higher Education and
Kabul University to establish a school of translation and interpretation for training college level linguists. Stay tune for more on this as we progress in our
endeavor.
November 2006
Thunderbird University in Arizona hosted 15 Afghan women for two weeks of training at their campus. Arjang

Farah, the founder and president of Arjang Language Center, traveled to Kabul, Afghanistan with Bpeace
organization for two weeks of training Afghan women. In this trip ALC provided translation and interpretation for

September 15 - October 6, 2007 – Vermont, Washington DC
Translation for three Afghan women judges
Three Afghan women judges were invited to the United States for three weeks of training and visiting justice system in the United States. Farah, the founder
of Arjang Language Center, was fortunate to accompany the three honorable judges for their entire stay in the United States providing translation and
interpretation services for court sessions, meetings, visits with Supreme Court of Vermont and Supreme Court of the United States, as well as panel
discussions at Vermont School of Law and Department of State.
International Association of Women Judges in partnership with the Rural Women’s Legal Initiative of Vermont were the host of this three week event. For

December 11-12, 2007 Tehran, Iran
7th conference of Linguistics Society of Iran
In a two day conference, held by Linguistics Society of Iran, more than 300 professional linguists attended 72 presentations and seminars. In order to update
her Farsi linguistics knowledge, Farah took the opportunity and attended the full conference in both days. It was with pleasure and pride to attend a
conference where researchers and professional linguists shared their knowledge and new findings on Farsi language with the audience who had come from all
parts of the country. Presenters were among the highest ranked linguists in Iran whose seminars and researches ranged from bilingualism in Iran to computer
linguistics in Farsi language.
December 7 – 8, 2007 - Mahabad, Iran
Farsi Editing Techniques seminar
In an advanced editing seminar, attended by more than 20 participants, Farah and Mo of Arjang Language Center learned advanced techniques of Farsi editing
presented by Dr. Ahmad Sami Guilani and Ms. Farzaneh Vezvaee, the two prominent editors in today’s Iranian publishing community. This was an
opportunity for Farah and Mo to hone their editing skills and learn Farsi advance editing presented by the masters of this profession in Iran.
